Finally, a short but sweet video clip of R48 blue. I hope you enjoy…
R48 comes with a non-rechargeable battery (CR2450) and a black cord (lanyard) to hang around the neck. The battery lasts for about 7-8 hours in continuous run.
There are also rechargeable battery (LIR2450) and the charger available. With those, you won’t need to keep buying batteries.
The charger is very compact and plugs right into an USB port.
White LEDs look yellow when they are not lit. Other colors (red, green, and blue) look like the photo above.
Features/Notes:
LIR2450 is a coin cell, Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. Physically the same size as CR2450, LIR2450 can be used as a rechargeable replacement to CR2450 in most cases.
This little battery has little over 100 mA/Hour capacity, with nominal 3.6 V output. This battery is perfect for powering a small project.
The problem (for me) was that there were only poor quality chargers available for this very useful battery. Since I could not find a good charger for it, I made one.
This charger is based on the popular MCP73831 by Microchip to charge Lithium-Ion battery safely.
The charger is very compact and plugs right into an USB port.
Features/Notes:
Here’s the sneak peak at the upcoming wearable piece – R48. (I promise that better video will come soon.) Four different LED colors (Red, Green Blue, and White) are planned, but the first color available would be blue.
The item will be in stock in the 3nd week of July, and the price will be $49. Pre-order starts now at $45 a piece.
Also available are optional rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery and the charger. The charger is very compact and plugs into an USB port. The photo below is showing the prototype. The final version will look better in black. (Will post the photo as soon as available.)
Features/Notes:
R48 is now shipping – pre-order is ended.
I have a limited supply of laser-cut acrylic case for Color Organ Triple Deluxe II available. This is one time offer, the cases won’t be available again once the supply is gone.
(The case kit does not include the knob.)
A few new items are debuting at the Maker Faire Bay Area tomorrow.
Didn’t have time to take video to show you what they do, but I will post more info after the Maker Faire.
Recently purchased T962A reflow oven. There were a couple of issues that I dealt with. Please see the Instructable on what I did.
Hello West Coast! I will be exhibiting at the Maker Faire Bay Area on May 18 & 19th.
This is the largest of Maker Faire, so I will be bringing a lot of stuff, some of which are not yet seen by anyone. (yes I’ve been working hard)
Please come see me and hundreds of great makers at this event. It will be exciting!
I made a laser cut acrylic enclosure for Color Organ Triple Deluxe II.
It’s a very simple design, but very functional. Built with laser cut acrylic and screws and nuts only. No filing, glueing or bending.
You can download the design file, and laser cut 3mm acrylic. I used Ponoko, but you should be able to use any services available.
Use my design as is, or customize as you like.
You will also need four 1 inch, #2-56 machine screws and nuts, such as these.
