Why not in rgb colors?

Most RGB LED’s are much more complex to create circuits for and can draw a lot more power. A standard LED has 2 “leads” – anode and cathode. An RGB has 4 “leads” generally. A common cathode OR a common anode and then one corresponding lead for each of the Red, Green, and Blue elements. Not only do the extra leads require a lot more in the way of components (resistors for every single color lead), but the processing lines between each RGB LED and controlling processor add up quickly.
If you’d like to explore RGB LED rings, you might check out the WS2812B-based NeoPixel Ring offering from Adafruit. Most of products out there based on WS2811, WS28212. and WS2812b work similarly. The RGB package and processor are all built together into a single tiny module. This allows you to individually program a (practically) infinite array of LED’s using just 3 wires…power, ground, and data. That’s how all those strips 1
