Art and Technology are Friends

Prototype PCB Giveaway!

As a part of developing new projects, I make PCBs for prototypes. I usually use OSH Park to have my prototype PCBs made. They are great – sophisticated web ordering page compete with full preview of the PCB design, which has helped me notice the errors before ordering. Low, no-gimmick pricing – just $5/sq. inch for a set of three PCBs.

Since I don’t always use all prototype PCBs, I have a few PCBs laying around. Some of them contain errors (that’s the point of prototyping, right?), but most of them (lucky for me) are perfectly functional.

So I want to give away those good prototype PCBs. The schematics and BOMs are provided on this site or instructables already, so you can gather parts and build them!

The qualification is simple – give me/my site a mention and a link on your web site, or if you have made any of my designs, put up a project at instructables (with pictures or/and video). Let me know what you did by either leaving a comment here or email, and I will send you a PCB. (Free shipping within USA only – sorry, international shipping will cost $5.)

I have more than a few good PCBs for the published and unpublished designs. Offer is limited to while PCBs last.

I webmaster a few pages and added a link to your page on one and will be adding it to the others shortly. I would love to get a proto board if you have any left.

Working on incorporating a 9 X 18 into my cyber-samurai armor. just working out the power issues and reprograming it to change the patterns to what I need.

Thanks for the great tool for cosplaying.

I was going thru and adding you and some other of my maker/Instructables, etc. links to Twitter/Facebook and noticed that you were offering up some free prototype boards for mentions on there, so I did. Your Aurora 18×18 has been on my to do list since I first decided I was going to embark down that road. It’s been a slow start and my first project is a still in progress. Perhaps it was a little ambitious (a 4×4 RGB led cube). But so far, so good. I’m stalled for parts right now.
Look forward to yours, free or not.
    Thanks. Shari

  8. I added a post about you! I really love the Auroras :) I am currently working on one of the 18x18s. They are splendid!

    Thank you in advance,

    Best Regards,

Another reason I enjoy your site, Not only do you have great products and projects, you are quick if a part is missing, and you do stuff like this.
Nice to find a good guy once in a while.

  12. Not sure if my previous msg posted or not. If not I mentioned that I posted about you in my blog (in my website link). That I was interested in one of the Auroras and also the HP Universal LED driver or buck converter (not sure what you have). Just had to think of a second place to post or maybe you would be interested in a board swap. I am finishing the design of a constant-current boost-converter that is designed to drive around 15 low-to-mid power LEDs in series. The default design is 70mA but this could be easily changed by using a different Rsense value.

  13. Hey, I put one post up so far (I put it in the website field). I’d love to try one of the auroras and the Universal HP LED driver (or the buck converter), not sure what you have extra of. Now I just have to figure out a second place to make a post! That or maybe you would be interested in a board swap. I am finally almost done laying out the board for my constant-current boost controller. It’s designed for stringing 15 low-to-mid-power LEDs in a row from a 12V source and holding them at 70mA (or another current by changing Rsense). It’s all SMD at this point so I could get it in a 5cm x 5cm package (it shouldn’t require heatsinks based on my thermal calculations).
